A Pop-Up at Zen Coffee Co.

Nicole’s ink and watercolor painting of Zen Coffee’s brick front with its yellow-green window frames and string lights, beside her paint palette

This past weekend I had the opportunity to do a pop-up at Zen Coffee Co. at their West location on 132 & Center. They had about 10-15 unique vendors set up on their wrap around porch as well as a line of customers waiting to try Zen’s seasonal drinks.

Once I had my set up to my liking, my friend Grace at Petals & Pages by Grace secured a spot in the line of thirsty people & graciously grabbed me a piping hot coffee like the angel she is.

Once I had my coffee, I got to drawing. For the first hour or so I was sketching the exterior of Zen Coffee and trying to capture the right color of green that framed the windows. The brick façade next to the yellow green wooden frame is such an iconic look and seeing it just reminds everyone they are entering Tiffany Plaza.

It was so great seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones! I wish I could show the paintings I made for people but so many of them were gifts so I couldn’t show them off quite yet! Shout out to Matt at Wicks & Works Collective for being my neighbor and talking all things Pokémon, Aliens and candles. His booth is awesome and his wife makes some pretty gorgeous watercolor bookmarks!

Thanks again for everyone coming out to support local!!
